Brief Answer:
Upper normal lymphocyte count may not be a cause f

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Regarding your lymphocyte count, I am of the opinion that it is not a cause for concern because at times it`s seen in otherwise normal individuals or may be a temporary phenomenon as a result of some recent viral/bacterial infection. At the most, you may repeat it after an interval, say 3 months.

Regarding your PFT(Pulmonary Function Test), you have not mentioned if you suffer from any lung condition esp asthma or bronchitis(since you have also mentioned your allergies) or are you a smoker?

The results do indicate moderately severe obstruction but with out any clinical background, it`s difficult to comment.

I do smoke. 1/2 pack a day for 30 years. No asthma. What do u mean obstruction? Something in my lung? My dad had lung cancer that went to his kidneys then brain then lymphatic system!! What can I do about obstruction? Please advise and soon! I'm really worried because this paper says obstruction as well. What is an obstruction? What can I do about it? And u and her both state severe! Is that bad? Advise soon please!

Brief Answer:
Here obstruction means resistance to the airflow.

Detailed Answer:
Please do not worry about obstruction. Your spirometry results posted by you say-'interpretation-severe obstruction'.

It`s not that as if you have some thing in your lungs causing obstruction. Here obstruction means - the airflow in the airways (which are tube like structures) is not smooth and encounters resistance. This may be seen in people with asthma, COPD and even in smokers. Some times a person may not be able to perform the test properly and then also result may show obstruction to airflow. Treatment is mostly for symptoms.

However, I`ll advise that you stop smoking because smoking has been established as a cause for many a lung conditions including lung cancer.
