What Is A Mucosal Wave?
Assessment of sound box technique
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Mucosal wave is a test performed to assess the function of vocal folds / sound box in the larynx. When we talk our vocal cord vibrate and that vibration lead to generating a wave measuring of which doctors and otorhinolaryngologists can sort out the pathology of the vocal folds.
There are different techniques to measure mucosal waves like electroglottography (EGG), photoglottography (PGG), and ultrasound and visualization techniques that include videokymography (VKG), stroboscopy, and high-speed digital imaging (HSDI).
Talk to your otorhinolaryngologist and let them decide what is best for you.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
