I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that orthostatic hypotension is defined as a decrease in systolic blood pressure of 20 mm Hg or a decrease in diastolic blood pressure of 10 mm Hg within three minutes of standing when compared with blood pressure from the sitting or lying down position.

This is one of the clinical forms of orthostatic intolerance.

The best test for the diagnosis of this disorder is Head Up Tilt test.

Other lab tests are needed to investigate for possible causes that may trigger this symptomatology:

- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels
- cortisol plasma levels for possible adrenal gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
