Brief Answer:
may need to try lifestyle changes

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Tecta is an the family of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. They help to reduce acid production but cannot do anything about the acid that is already present.

For this reason they can take a few days to have any effect while the acid that is already present goes out of the body.

In addition to medication, there are other aspects of management of acid reflux such as: (1) reducing meal size.

Instead of large main meals, meals should consist of small frequent meals to reduce acid production

(2)reducing the use of citrus fruits including tomato, onions, mint, coffee, chocolate
Spicy/fatty or fried foods may also need reduction

(3)waiting at least 2 hours after eating before laying down

(4)weight loss of any excess weight that may be pressing on the stomach and worsening reflux

There are other medications in this family that you can use with these lifestyle changes eg prevacid, prilosec, aciphex, nexium
You can try one of these. As mentioned, because of the way these meds work can take a few days before an effect is noticed.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
