What Is The Cause And Treatment Of Costochondrits?
Question: I had my daughter two months ago.came down with what doctors are saying costochondrits . How do I know it's not heart related . Also have shortness of breath , stabbing or dull chest pains , fatigue , dizzy , feeling weak . EKG and Echo came back normal as well as d dimer and treponin tests. I also have a heart murmer . Is this truly costo or is it heart related . Also have anemia and always sleepy and urinating a lot .

After this happiness, I am sorry to get to know about the situation you are in.
Please bare in mind that a medical diagnosis is confirmed after having further evaluated the patient:
- physically
- and after running additional tests (in your case EKG, cardiac ECHO, D-dimer and treponin tests).
So, if after evaluation, everything came back normal, then, nothing to worry about your heart. I understand that you are concerned about having a heart murmur. Please bare in mind that having heart murmur does not necessarily mean that you should be symptomatic or have serious issues. There are many other patients who have been diagnosed with congenital heart murmur and live a perfectly normal life.
What concerns me in your case is:
- anemia: that should be properly treated through iron and folic acid supplementation and special diet. Delivery your baby might have turned you anemic, and that is normal. By passing thee time and after doing the right things, you won't have problems with anemia.
- urinating alot: that could be a sign of urinary tract infection, that is commonly reported among patients after delivery. You can run an urine analysis and abdominal ultrasound and vaginal swab testing to rule out uro-genital infection and/or treat it accordingly.
- feeling dizzy and weak is related to anemia and partially to losing electrolytes through urine (as you urinate often). You should increase water (fluids) intake, and take OTC Oral rehydration salts (or energizers like gatorade, etc.)

Thank you doctor . I have just been feeling so weak that I can barely stand . Also the chest pains really are horrible so glad I don't have anything life threatening . How long will this take to pass . I have been like this for six weeks now . Also yes delivering my baby my hemoglobin was 8.7 now it's 10.8 .
