What Is The Cause For Aching Pain Post Surgery For Broken Humerus?
Question: Hello I badly broke my left humerus on 6 JUly last and had it have it operated on and pinned and plated. The pain eased down somewhat and X rays after two months showed it was healing. I haven't injured it since, It has started ato ache again thought not as bad as first and I still have movement in the arm. I have had several different lay opinions in that:
a) it will take at least 12 months to heal
b)I can expect some discomfort in it forever
c) arthritis can set in

a) It will usually take 6 months for complete healing.
b) With good physiotherapy exercises, full range of motion will be achieved and there will be no any discomfort forever.
c) Arthritis depends upon nature of fracture. If fracture involves joint and is not properly reduced then there is chance of arthritis, otherwise it will not lead to arthritis.
