What Is The Cause Of Having Palpitations And Bp 117 Over 62 With A Pulse Rate Of 90?
Thanks for posting your query.
You are suffering from palpitations with normal blood pressure and puse rate.
Palpitations may be due to cardiac or non cardiac etiology.
Cardiac causes may be arrhythmias, mitral valve prolapse and atrial thrombus.
Arrhythmias may be APCs, VPCs, Ventricular bigeminy/ trigeminy, atrial fibrillation/ flutter.
You should consult with physician/ cardiologist and should go for ECG and 2 D echo on preliminary basis.
If your ECG is normal or inconclusive then you should go for electro-physiological studies of heart.
As you are a known case of diabetes, there is high risk of coronary artery disease.
You should also go for coronary angiography.
Non cardiac cause may be hormonal causes such as hyperthyroidism and cushing's syndrome with excess of adrenaline hormone.
You should also go for following blood investigations: complete blood count, serum electrolytes, thyroid profile, serum ACTH, renal function test, ECG,2 D echo.
If all test comes tobe normal then it may be panic attacks and you should consult with psychiatrist.
