Pain in hair roots when i move my hair from one side to another side. Now my age is 28 yrs and not yet married. Please guide me doctor just i want ..complete redemtion from that pain....
If I move the hair, brush to another side, scratch fingers over the roots, any movement hurts a lot. At some times of the day, it hurts more or left, i see no pattern for it. And i always use to wash my hair clean and neat without any dirt. if i tie/Knot my hair it gets pain and so again i'll leave my hair loose and i use to apply oil to my hair very thick.I lost my healthy and thick long hair.I am working with a Pharma company.I have work tensions as well as family tensions and also have so many burdens on head as i dont have brothers . i have used many shampoos and now i am using HALO Shampoo.sometime severly i am getting this pain and it always happens, since a 1 year. Now my looks so dull and Dry....
I tried to brush hair to the other sides, but i cant comb/touch my hair. i dont have any neck pains and all, haven't seen anyone with this hair pain in family, it nevers stands there, always fall to the same side, it seems the hair is stick to one rest position only.
Why its happening like that...?
Brief Answer:
Trychodynia ; stress is an important cause
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sudheera,
I can understand your concern for the Pain in hair roots.
After thoroughly reading your query and analyzing the complete situation I can make out that you are suffering from the condition of Trichodynia.
It is a condition in which there is pain in the hair roots along with painful sensation on the scalp.
The cause behind the condition is because of the sensitivity of the nerves innervating scalp hair follicles. These over sensitive nerves perceives higher of pain even on touching or without any stimulus also.
In most of the case we find that there is an underlying stress, depression or anxiety or an emotional event which causes over sensitivity of the nerves.
The most important point in the treatment of the condition is by reducing the stress. I can get that there is lot of stress in your life which may be the possible cause of the problem.
I suggest you to reduce your stress so that this condition can be halted best. Let me know if you have taken any kind of medicines for the pain in scalp or for stress itself.

Brief Answer:
amitriptyline hydrochloride at night time
Detailed Answer:
Hello Sudheera,
Welcome to the forum again and thanks for swift reply along with important details.
If I were your treating doctor then would have prescribed you low-dose (10 mg) amitriptyline hydrochloride at night time after meals. This is one of the tablet which will help us out in reducing the kind of excessive sensitivity of the nerves at scalp region. The only side effect of the tablet is sedation and that is why it is to be given at night time only.
I would have prescribed this tablet for one month period and observed the symptoms and the condition after one month. If there had been improvement then the probable cause is simple oversensitivity only but if there is less improvement then the part of anxiety and depression is also to be ruled out and properly treated in your case.
I again suggest you to reduce your anxiety and related symptoms so that all your problems can be reduced. Keep yourself busy, give positive suggestions and do not stay alone (rather keep a good company of a person with positive thinking).
My best wishes for early recovery from the problem.
