Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.
Since your main concern is scalp pain which is more of a dysesthetic type in trichodynia I would suggest you take Pregabalin 75 mg, twice daily Or Gabapentin 300mg, once daily (gradually increasing to thrice daily, if needed). Both these are useful options in dysesthetic type of symptoms

Hello. Thank you for writing to healthcaremagic

Scalp dysesthesia is not directly related to hair loss although telogen effluvium (sudden increase in hair shedding) and scalp dysesthesia can be both be precipitated by a stressful life event, either psychological stress e.g depression, anxiety Or physical stress e.g surgery, prolonged illness, weight loss etc.
If gabapentin has not been very effective for scalp dysesthesia there are other treatment options too e.g You may try a tricyclic antidepressant e.g either Amitriptyline 25, twice daily (increased to thrice daily) or doxepine 10mg twice daily.
