What Is The Dosage Of Amantrel And Syndopa For Parkinson's Disease?

The dose and combination varies with clinical stage and response
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
The dose and combinations of anti-Parkinsonism drugs may vary as per the clinical profile and response of the patient. However, a rough idea is given below:
* Amantrel (Amantadine Hydrochloride) - Initially 100 mg once daily, then increased to 100 mg twice or thrice daily for 2-3 weeks. Maximum dose is 400 mg.
* Syndopa CR (Carbidopa 100 mg + Levodopa 25 mg modified release) and Syndopa Plus (Carbidopa 25 mg + Levodopa 100 mg) - Initial: 1 tab 3 times/day. Dose to be adjusted according to response. Max: 8 tab/day. If patient has been taking L-dopa alone, combination therapy may only be started at least 8 hr after stopping L-dopa.
* Pramirol (Pramipexole) - Initial: 125 mcg thrice daily on the 1st wk, increased to 250 mcg thrice daily on the 2nd wk and 500 mcg thrice daily on the 3rd wk according to response. Dose may further increase if needed. Max: 4.5 mg/day.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your response.
I understand your concerns. The prescribed regimen seems reasonable. But you need to understand that treatment and dose adjustment for such a disease can only done after careful examination and assessment of response, something that cannot be done sitting at a distance. You would have to remain under the follow up of your treating physician and have to communicate the problems and developements in the ongoing course. It is based on the same that the dosage adjustments can be made. I would suggest you not to fiddle with the doses on your own.
I hope you understand.
