What Is The Dosage Of Regestrone To Postpone Periods?

Question: Dear Doctor,
I am a 40 year old married woman with hypothyroidism. I am on Thyrox 75 mg. I had planned a vacation from Aug 29 to Sept 5 after calculating my probable period dates, However, the same got delayed this time and I am not pregnant. I got my last period on July 24. Today, at the 35th day, can I start Regestrone? If yes, what will be the dosage and till how long will it be safe to take? (I am planning for a baby soon)

Brief Answer:
Regesterone should start 3-4 days before your expected period date.

Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand that you want to postpone your menses.
If you want to postpone your menses than regesterone should be taken 3-4 days before your expected period date and continue till the date you want to delay your period.
Your period will resume within a week after stopping the medication.
You can take maximum upto 14 days.
It is a prescription drug and for dosage you should consult a Gynecologist.
