What Is The Dosage Of Generic Cytomel?

Question: I have just begun generic cytomel but my doctor was not clear on when to take it. Is cytomel okay to take with food? and is it best to split the dose? I am also on synthroid and I take that several hours before breakfast. Lastly, should I be on brand name cytomel rather than generic? Is that more reliable?

Cytomel dosage depends on the exact cause and condition (e.g. congenital hypothyroidism, goiter, etc.). So whatever the dosage your doctor has given, it has to be taken; but of course it is a one-tablet a day course.

Cytomel can be taken with or without food, whatever is most convenient for your ma'am; but do try to take it at the same time every day.

Whether you are on the brand name or generic, it does not really matter ma'am; do not worry about this. :)
