Brief Answer:
Please see the explanation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
vagus is a parasympathetic nerve which influences the activity of the heart and the digestive tract.
Vitamins of the B group especially B1, B6 and B12 affect the health of the nervous system and their deficiency may produce dysfunction. This is most obvious with B12 deficiency.
Acetylcholine is the mediator released by the vagus nerve and if additional is given it increases the parasympathetic activity like slowing of the heart or increasing the movement of the gut.
I shall be happy to answer if you have more queries.

Can you get to much acetylcholine and the B1 B6 B12 and if so what effect does it have on the vagus nerve? When I need to have a BM my head feels strange I get anxious and during the BM I sometimes feel like I will pass out. I have had to take B12 shots for a long time. I take hydroxiecobalamine B12 every 5 to 7 days. I have been under a lot of stress since my husband suddenly died in Dec. but am trying to do things to lower the stress. Also what effect does magnesium and vitamin C have on vagus nerve
Brief Answer:
Functional bowel disorder

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in replying due to the different time zones we live in.
Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter and you don't get it from outside except through injections under experimental conditions.
You can do a blood B12 level and you need to take supplement of B12 only if there is a deficiency.
I am sorry to know that you lost your husband . The stress from the loss is probably the reason for your symptoms which are common in a functional bowel disorder. Eat wholesome food, drink plenty of water, exercise at least 30 minutes a day, practice stress relieving measures like yoga, meditation or relaxation techniques and have a positive outlook on life. Unless blood Magnesium level is low, supplements of Magnesium have no role. The same goes for vitamin C.
