Yes DILANTIN has a longer half life. Half Life Eliminate time is the term used to describe and calculate any drug's elimination from body. DILANTIN has 7-42 hours of elimination time in this regard. It is bound to fats in body that is also a cause of its late elimination.

And as you have taken the next dose, I want to keep you relax that DILANTIN has another best thing that when taken orally, time to peak plasma concentration is 4-12 hours for extended release formulation and 1.5-3 hours for Immediate release form. So don't worry much as you are good to go from now onwards to take routine dosage as prescribed. No need to double the dose. Keep taking as prescribed.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you with expert opinion. For any disease you have, a timely follow-up is very necessary regarding the treatment efficacy and to see if there is a need to change the treatment options. So keep a follow up to see how you doing (Always write down my name in the start of your questions at this forum & I will be with you in no time).
