For your information and with thanks:
About ten years ago I was “suddenly gifted” with severe RLS. MRIs at the time revealed nothing. Until a year ago I could manage the RLS symptoms with mirapex. In early 2016 I had a stroke that took my left ear and with it my balance and significantly increased the intensity of the RLS symptoms. I am attempting to move from mirapex to ropinirole and am finding it very difficult. I have a team of very good Neurologists from the Wake Forest, NC group looking after me but it seems clear that I have to get more involved.
I have over the last three weeks been slowly increasing the daily dosage of ropinirole HCL in 3-5 day steps (25mg, .5, 1.5, 2) taken at about 13:00 and 16:00 hours. At 2.0 mg/day I have reached, or am approaching a level sufficient to control RLS symptoms in the most problematic time period of 18:00 24:00 hours, but there are still some less problematic symptoms in the 12:00 thru 17:00 period. I am trying to estimate and then confirm the optimum dose and time of doses and then consider if the extended-release formulation of ropinirole might better serve me. With your kind response and comments I derived a set of curves that help me a lot:
(If you want I can send you the curves)
I realize that this is of little interest to you, but healthcaremagic.com and your perfect response to my question was important to me, and I want to encourage you and healthcaremagic.com to continue your work. It is almost too good to be true.
