![default](/r/images/default.png)
I have upped the 100mg of Dulera on my own by one extra puff.adds to 300mg...600mg is still less than the 800mg total for day.why is there no in between recommended dosing?
Inhaled treatment is best treatment.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Inhaled treatment is best treatment for breathing difficulty. Inhaled treatment acts directly on lungs, so systemic side effects are minimal and we can get desired effect quickly and precisely.
So better to continue inhaler. It is good for you.
Along with inhaler, you should also take combination of antihistamine and anti allergic drugs.
Before commenting on doses I would like to know
1. What is your weight?
2. Do you have allergies?
3. Do you smoke?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Never smoked
HE NEVER PRESCRIBED THE IN BETWEEN DOSE
Doctor hears hitch in breathing..probably since having pericardectomy
Had that done at age 17Trying to reduce side effects
Have not heard back about dosing..need to understand logic of dosing
Ideally, LABA should be taper off first.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Dukera is having mometasone and formoterol.
Mometasone is inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) and formoterol is long acting beta 2 agonist (LABA).
If asthma patient is stable fir atleast 6-8 months with particular dose than we can plan for taper down the dose.
Stability determined on the basis of PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and symptoms.
If patient is stable then first LABA should be taper down to half dose.
Continue with reduced dose for 3 months. Again get done PFT. If PFT is stable then stop LABA and give only ICS. Do PFT again and taper ICS two half dose and so on.
So ideally LABA should be taper down first and then ICS.
Please let me know
1. What was last your PFT readings?
2. Do you still have allergies?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
