What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Colon Cancer?
Question: Hello, my father-in-law has been diagnosed with colon cancer. They also saw tumours in the liver and lungs. He lives in France (and doesn't really speak the language very well). He has been sent home with no treatment other than a few drugs. He seems, tired, but not exactly on his death bed. He is 92! What should we expect and in what time frame?
Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Survival will be short
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. So its an advanced staged colon cancer. At his age it will be slight difficult to treat him with the usual drugs but some form of oral drugs like capecitabine or tegafur can be given. These drugs will help to control the tumor and his life can be prolonged. Expected life will be around 6 to 9 months with this treatment. Without treatment he will have pain, fatigue , tiredness loss of appetite. Treatment will lead to some improvement in quality of life.
Thanks and regards
