Brief Answer:
unfortunately bad prognosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. It is always difficult to talk about prognosis since every man and disease is individual, also some data about tumor type and grade would be useful for me. However, unfortunately, in cases of inoperable stomach cancer with liver and peritoneal dissemination, the prognosis is very poor and chemo and radiotherapy are just palliative method with very limited success. With no treatment the life expectancy for such stages is around 6 months. If there will be great response to chemo that he can tolerate then it may be prolonged for several more months. 1 year survival for 4. stage of stomach cancer is around 15%, and 3 years survival around 3%. I am sorry I dont have more optimistic predictions but this is agressive cancer where only complete surgical resection may provide some long term hope. I am sorry for pesimistic words, but these are statistics and you can always hope for best scenario and support him as much as you can. There is experimental surgery for disseminated stomach cancer and include HIPEC which is succesful in some ovarian and colon cancers and use in stomach cancer is still under investigation.
Wish you good health. Regards

Brief Answer:
no precise prognosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Complete surgical resection means that stomach, part of the liver and involved lymph nodes must be removed and that there must not be macroscopically visible tumor anymore. In this case, his prognosis would be much better. But if surgeon evaluated and decided that this cant be treated surgically then you should trust him
