What Is The Longevity Of Spermatozoa In The Post-ejaculatory Urine Of Fertile Men?

Question: Semen after ejaculation, the small portion that is stuck in urethra, does it die within 24 hours. What happens to it?
Brief Answer:
Most is washed out with urination.
Detailed Answer:
Most of the remaining semen is washed out when you next pee. It is possible that some of the sperm can remain and then show up in the pre-ejaculatory fluid (pre-cum) the next time you get an erection. This is only a small portion of the typical number of sperm that are in ejaculate, but it is still possible for some to stay alive.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.

Okay I have done samples of pre ejaculate after urination. They contained 0 sperm but have never done it without peeing. Does it still just stay in urethra or does it ooze out or die after say a few hours. I doubt a human can go more than 12 hours without peeing?
Brief Answer:
There isn't much research on remaining sperm and preejaculate.
Detailed Answer:
This is an inaccurate science and not much research has been done. What we know is that some pre ejaculate in some men do contain sperm, although not very much.
I would have to assume that whatever ejaculate made it into the urethra from the last arousal will be washed out completely since the the bladder and reproductive system share the urethra. Farther back inside, behind the urethra, if some semen remains from the previous ejaculation, this would be what might be mixed in with the preejaculatory fluid during the next arousal. I doubt that remaining semen would ooze out after a few hours because there wouldn't be anything forcing it forward to do so (i.e. no forceful contractions). We are talking about a small amount because almost all of the semen would have already been squeezed out with the last orgasm.
Here is a video which may help:https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/anatomyvideos/000121.htm
According to the research I was able to find, it is not uncommon for there to be no sperm found in the pre ejaculate - so you are not abnormal.

Thank you doctor today I did it again but didn't use the bathroom after. About an hour later I started masterbaiting to get the fluid to come out again once I noticed a couple drops I put it under microscope. There was indeed sperm in that sample a very tiny bit and most appeared to not be moving I saw like 7-8 throughout the slide and only two were moving but one was just doing circles. I have since urinated and i will do it again later on to see if the urine washed the tiny bit of sperm out. Thanks for your help!

Your welcome
Detailed Answer:
Sounds like you are doing a good job controlling the variables.
One other thing to consider: There will be more the likelihood of more sperm if checked on separate days as the overall sperm count goes down with successive ejaculations. How much it goes down over what period of time will vary from one person to the next. But when couples are trying to conceive and having difficulty, we often encourage the man to not masturbate for 3 days prior to trying to conceive.
Glad to help answer your question. If you have no further questions, go ahead and close the discussion.
