What Is The Proper Time To Take Vyvanse?
Question: Accidentally gave my son his first 30 mg of Vyvance tonight instead of in the morning as directed. Should I wait 36 hours ( next morning after tomorrow) or go ahead and give him his regular dose in the morning.

Vyvance is an stimulant drug and is used for treatment of ADHD. The starting dose is 30 mg and then the dosing may be increased gradually(20 mg/week) till 70 mg daily depending on the response.
The usual time to take this medication is in the morning with or without food.If taken in night it may cause sleep disturbances.
Once consumed it gets converted into its active form within 2-3 hours and thereafter remains in blood for about 16-24 hours.
Vyvance may cause some side effects like anxiety, restlessness, palpitations,confusion,agitation, increased sweating especially when there is overdosing or in the presence of any preexisting condition.
Although there is a range of dosing from 30-70 mg/day but as this was his first dose and the medicine can be there in blood for next 16-24 hours,I would prefer to skip the morning dose and to continue the medication in prescribing dose from the day after tomorrow morning.
