What Is The Recovery Period After Lumbar Spinal Fusion Surgery?
Question: I've just had surgery, fusion f4/f5, f5/s1. I'm so afraid I'm going to do something wrong and it won't heal right. The pain seems to be going on longer than any other surgery I've had and I'm wondering what I should plan for

Thank you for your answer.
1. 10/18/16
2. No
3. No
I do still have the feeling of pain down the outside of my left leg. That concerns me. I've been walking about a mile every day. I was told walking was ok, but wonder if I'm overdoing it. I don't know my limits sometimes. The walking makes me feel good that I,m not just sitting around, but I think I'm stiffer because of it.

Brief Answer:
Your leg pain will go slowly
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
After studying your answers I can assure you that your symptoms are not very serious. Soon you will have complete pain relief in leg. Some back pain can be there for six months as fusion takes some time. But leg pain will improve. As far as walking is concern there is no limit and you can walk as much as possible. But for bending forward, sitting on floor and weight lifting, you may need up to 6 months.
Thanks
