What Is The Routine Immunization Program For Children?
All these vaccines are recommended for all children for disease prevention
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I.understand that in XXXXXXX people still are confused by the words mandatory and optional vaccines.
The free vaccines given in government doesn't give protection against many diseases like chickenpox, rotavirus, pneumococcal, hepatitis a, typhoid, etc.
Please note - the term optional ( only for cost) has been dropped now as parents think it is ok to skip these. But in fact these are the most dangerous ones which need protection.
Nowadays all vaccines below are recommended for routine use.
This is the standard immunisation schedule recommend by XXXXXXX Academy of Paediatrics.
1. Birth - bcg, opv, hepatitis b.
2. 6 weeks - pentavalent, rotavirus, ipv, pneumococcal
3. 10 weeks and 14 weeks - quadravalent dpt plus hib, ipv, rotavirus, pneumococcal.
4. 6 months - opv, hep b
5. 9 months - mmr, opv
6. 9 to 12 months- typhoid tcv
7. 1 year - hepatitis a
8. 15 months - mmr, varicella and pneumococcal
9. 16 to 18 months - quadravalent dpt plus hib, ipv
10. 18 months - hepatitis a
11. 2 years - typhoid booster.
12. 5 years - dpt, varicella, typhoid booster
13,. 10 years - Tdap booster.
Wishing your child good health.
