What Is The Window Period For Chlamydia Infection?

Question: Will chlamydia show up on a test 72 hours after sex?
Brief Answer:
You can take the test but repeat test advised.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I would like to tell you that if you had unprotected intercourse or threat of Chlamydia infection then you can get a chlamydia test at any time even after 72 hours but I advise you to repeat the test after two weeks since you had sex as the infection might not always be found in the early stages. You can get urine or swab collection done to take the tests.

It was protected and i got a negative test. I havent had any real symptoms to suggest anything other than after i ejaculate i feel like i have to pee more often and that its kind of sensitive afterward and just cant figure out what is causing that. Normally during the day i feel ok.
Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Wellcome back.
It's great to learn that your test was negative. If the. Intercourse was protected then there is no risk of any STD including chlamydia. Now coming to your problem you feel like urinating often this could be sign of urinary tract infection. I suggest you to collect early morning urine sample for 3 days and send it for urine analysis, microscopy and culture sensitivity for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Get your haemogram , blood sugar,
serum urea, uric acid and creatinine tested. You may require an ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis too. I advise you to drink plenty of water daily. Stay in follow up.
