What Is Transvaginal Ultrasound Used To Detect?
TVS (Trans vaginal ultrasound)
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for the query.
I can understand your concern.
Your OBGYN has ordered for an Ultrasound (through vaginal route). This is a
non-invasive procedure ie it is not a painful procedure.
A small rounded probe is placed in vagina and an ultrasound image is taken to know any pathology in pelvic area.
It is as good as Abdominal ultrasound. Only difference is instead of keeping probe on abdominal surface, here it is kept inside vagina.
Do worry. It is a very simple procedure.
Treatment is decided based on the pathology seen in report. Do not worry. Almost all conditions diagnosed through TVS have a definite treatment.
Hope you get normal results in your TVS.
Take care, Bye.
