Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

Urticaria, also known as hives, are pale red, raised, itchy bumps that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or allergic reactions.

Treatment of urticaria consists of:

1)     Avoidance of the allergen which may be causing the rashes.

2)     You can take antihistaminics like Benadryl, Zyrtec or Claritin after consulting your doctor. Even levocetrizine can be taken under medical sueprvision.

3)     Apply calamine lotion on the rashes for a soothing effect on the skin.

4)     If the symptoms are severe then you may need topical or oral steroids.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us.

Please accept my answer in case you have no follow up query.

Wishing you speedy recovery.

Regards.
