What Makes A 5 Month Old To Wake Up Several Times At Night?
Question: Hi, my daughter is now 5 and half months old. I have been mother feeding her and have just started with homemade sprouted ragi congi once during the day. she wakes up for 3-4 times in the night for feed. what else could I feed her to reduce waking up at night?
Brief Answer:
Avoid complementary feeds till 6 months of age
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Infants sometimes wake up 4-5 times at night for feeds or due to other discomfort. It's a perfectly normal behavior and usually improve over a period of time. Avoid long daytime naps to improve sleep at night.
There is no reason to start complementary feeds before 6 months of age as breastfeeding is best for your baby's growth and development. In case the feeds seems to be inadequate then improving your diet by healthy green leafy vegetables, dates, fenugreek, cabbage etc will help.
Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
