What Makes A Month Old Baby To Prefer One Breast To Another?

Question: my baby is a month old and preferring one breast to another what to do
Brief Answer:
one breast maybe producing more milk and easier to suck
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You are concerned that you child is preferring one breast over the other during breast feeding. Your child maybe having difficulty sucking on one breast. Either the breast is not producing enough milk or it is just too hard to suck. The other thing is that the babies positioning on the breast maybe uncomfortable for him/her. I would not be too concerned about it as long as your child is getting enough milk and gaining weight appropriately.

Yes positioning could be a factor in your babies reduced sucking. Try different positions and make sure she can breast through your nose. It is also possible if she has a little nasal congestion that this may hamper her feeding.
