MVA stands for mitral valve area , nomral value of which is 4 -6 cm2.
However more than 2 is ok ,1.5 to 2 is mild mitral stenosis, 1 to 1.5 is moderate mitral stenosis and less than 1 is severe .
If you are very thin or short you should avg if for body surface area .
