Thank you for your response. By way of follow-up:
What kind of ginseng are you recommending, and for how long, and what dosage?
I am unfamiliar with Guduchi, but you seem to recommend it highly. Can you tell me some of its properties and whether it is safe for medium/long-term use?
Are any of your recommendations contraindicated for insomnia (I'm going through a bout these days, as I am a perennial allergy
re time of taking and dosages, for example, like tyrosine (take only in AM 500-1000 mg)?
Thank you.
Brief Answer:
it is always safe to discuss all supplements with your Primary Physician
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have experience of using Panx Ginseng (from Himalaya an XXXXXXX company). It is in the root and mild form and advised as 1-2 tablets a day.
Guduchi also called Gunvel or Tinospora Cordifola is one of the highest rated 'rasayans' or disease and immunomodulators in Ayurveda, available from Himalaya company as 250 mg to be taken twice a day.
Ginseng can sometimes add to insomnia.
Both are safe for long term use in adults, and non pregnant women.
However it is always safe to discuss all supplements with your Primary care Physician, who should take the final call on the constitution.
