Had Total Hysterectomy, Weight Gain, Body Pain, Thinning Hair, Upset Stomach, Tender Breasts, Depression, Hot Flashes. Is It Menopause?

I had a total hysterectomy (kept cervix) over a year ago, I am struggling with estrogen, I have tried the patch, now oral estrace. I cannot keep my weight down, my body aches, my hair is thinning, my stomach is constantly upset, breast tenderness, depression, mental fatigue, hot flashes, restless sleep. Am I in full blown menopause?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for using healthcare magic,
I have gone through your available history.

Your symptoms are suggestive of estrogen deficiency and post menopausal symptoms. So you should consult your gynecologist for adjusting the dose of hormone replacement therapy.

If you are in stress and depression, you should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management. Doctor may determine whether it is only secondary to hormone deficiency or it is a co-illness.

Treatment would be directed as per cause.

Thanks.
