When Can Peritoneal Dialysis Be Done For Kidney Failure?
Question: Is it possible for me to get a peritoneal , as soon as it is discovered I need dialysis???

Other two are hemodialysis and CAPD. hemodilaysis si the one where you need to go to dialysis center to get 4 hours of dialysis every alternate day( three times a week). CAPD is a form of dialysis at home that can be simply done by anyone after a brief period of training. You can go for CAPD straight with without any problem. But, for the success of every programme, yo need some preparation. so, get prepared for that. Construction of AV fistula ( AVF) at wrist is a must before that. Even if you choose CAPD, AVF is a must as you might get a time to use it in case of any necessity in the future. CAPD is a decent procedure provided it is initiated in appropriate time and appropriate person. Not every one is suitable and not every one is successful. Hemodialysis has few complications of cardiac disease and some are unfit due to cardiac problem( low pumping of heart, called cardiac failure). They are the people who are invariably initiated on CAPD and as expected they get in to complications. CAPD done as an emergency in a sick sate also can get into complications of infections which is the most worrisome part of CAPD for many patients and also the reason why they do not feel like choosing CAPD. but, as i told, it is the " timing" , which is most important. So, you need to be physically , medically, emotionally prepared to get into a good programme called CAPD.
