When Is Menstrual Bleeding Expected While On Noresthisterone And Micronor?
The XXXXXXX pill does not normally give you regular periods
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can clarify this for you.
The "mini pill" or progesterone only pill, normally needs to be taken every day and because there is no scheduled pill-free week, most users will not menstruate regularly when taking it. It is also less effective than the combined estrogen/progesterone pill, which is why it is recommended for women who are breastfeeding or have other reasons they cannot take a monthly cycle pill. The hormone you were given to take is a kind of synthetic estrogen, so it may work like combination pills and give you a period 3-5 days after discontinuing it, but it may not.
If you want to be able to control your cycle with oral contraceptives, you are best to take a combined estrogen/progesterone pill and and if you want to skip your menses, just skip the placebo or pill-free week and take 2 packs back-to-back. This regimen is also more effective in preventing pregnancy; 1 in 10 women will conceive on Micronor unless they are breastfeeding, compared to 1 in 200 on a combination pill. If you use condoms too the XXXXXXX pill is ok, but it is not unusual to skip periods anyway while taking this medication.
I hope this adequately answers your question and that this information was helpful. If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me further.
