When Should Second Dose Of Hepatitis AB Vaccination Be Taken?

Question: Hello Doctor,
I got my first injection of the hep A&B series and needed to return for the second one month later. It has totally slipped my mind to get the second and it has now been 3 1/2 weeks later I remembered the follow-up. What actions or what will happen now that my schedule is off. The only reason I am getting these is the fact I have chronic liver disease and anemia and receive on small occasions blood transfusions.
Thanks in advance for your help. XXXX

Brief Answer:
No issues, continue from second dose
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Hepatitis AB series is given as three doses 0,1, 6 months
The second dose can be given at 1 to 2 months after first dose.
No problem in immunogenicity.
My advice is take the second dose as soon as possible and third dose remains unchanged at 6 months after first dose.
Dont worry, you will be adequately protected
