Which One Of Colimex Drops And Colimex DF Is Good For Weakness?
Question: My Baby, a Girl child is 2 weeks old and appears weak. I want to avoid medication in such a young age. She is crying quite continously and appears irritated. I have even given external feed fearing hunger and less milk from me. My Doctor prescribes Colimex Drops, which on checking on internet appears to have a sedative. Whereas another drops - Colimex DF is mentioned on the net as a herbal product and even prescribed by Dr Samik XXXXXXX of your Panel.. Which drops should I give?
Brief Answer:
both are safe
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing to us.
Colimex is allopathic product with dicyclomine and dimethicone , no sedative.
Colimex df is ayurvedic with fennel oil.
Both are safe and can be given.
You can give 5 drops thrice daily before feeding of either one when baby is crying excessively.
This colic pain might last a few weeks before settling on it's own.
Continue exclusive breastfeeding.
Burp after each feed.
