Dexilant is a better drug. It is a brand name and there can be no doubt about its quality and effectiveness. Omeprazole is generic and I cannot guarantee how good it is. However, omeprazole is cheaper than dexilant. If I were asked to pick, I am definitely going to pick Dexilant for the above reasons. Side effect wise, they are minimal and none is worse than the other.
