Which One Of Estradiol And Premarin Is Good For Post Menopausal Symptoms?

Question: I'd like to know the difference between estradiol and premarin. I'd also like to know the dosage equivalence between the two drugs. I'm currently taking 1 mg estradiol and my doctor has recommended I consider switching to premarin. I wasn't quite clear on his rationale for that suggestion - I think he said that because it is a natural substance it has other substances in addition to estradiol, which makes it a more complete estrogen. What is your opinion on that recommendation?

Premarin tablets contain conjugated estrogens, a mixture of estrogens obtained from natural sources. In our body 3 forms of estrogen occurs, means slight changes in chemical structure of estrogen. estradiol is one among it and Premarin contains all forms of naturally occuring estrogen in body, so Premarin is a better substituent.
