1. Yes. I wear dentures, but have for over five years now. Never a problem and they fit well. My physical therapist has asked this too and she thought I should have dentures checked, which I will do, but do not think it is that. But I do have TMD for which I see the physical therapist, as I have this popping of the jaw at times. It is getting better though and they think it may be related to stress, and she treated a certain tense muscle. SO, that was one of my thoughts, dentures or TMD.
2. yes, low dosage of thyroid medication and I take Nexium for GERD. I was wondering if that was the cause but before this I was on omeprazole. Not sure if that was it.
3. No not often.
4.No

I cannot take the pictures now but will try asap. But I have no strange swelling or lesions, as I noticed but will see about dentures checked anyway.

Hello ,

Welcome again .

I have read your query and gone through your answers . See Riavanderveen as you are denture wearing denture since 5 years so there is less chance of allergy from denture material but still i will suggest you to consult oral surgeon for clinical examination of oral cavity and Denture .
Secondly as have GERD and you are taking medicine Nexium for that , No doubt Nexium is good medicne but GERD can be the factor causing Burning mouth syndrome . If you have severe symptoms of burning sensation then I will suggest you to consult Gastroentrologist for alteration of dosage of Nexium and in meantime I will suggest you few remedies .
-Dont take stress . Stress can also causes GERD , Burning mouth syndrome , TMD.
-Take proper Balanced and Nurtitious diet. You can take Vitamin supplements .
-Avoid hot and spicy food .
-Drink plenty of water in short intervals .
-Increase protein content in your diet .
-Avoid taking tea and coffee prior to bed time .

Hope I have answered your query .
If you have further query I will be happy to help.
