default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: I have pain that comes and goes everyday in my lower left back. I've been in the ER to weekends in a row and they do not find anything with blood test, urine test x rays
or a cat scan. I'm on pain pills and a muscle relaxers but nothing is really helping. What kind of specialist should I see?

Brief Answer:
Spine surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think the attempts to ascertain a diagnosis in the ER were futile. You should consider fixing an early appointment with Spine surgeon / Neurosurgeon in your area. They will be better judges and more skilful than ER physicians.

MRI scan is optimal than CAT scan/Xrays.

Please see a Spine surgeon for thorough evaluation.
