Why Does A Person With Bipolar Disorder Cannot Have SSRI Anti-depressants?

default
Posted on Fri, 8 Jan 2016
Question: I am unable to take any SSRI anti-depressants. I've been told that is common with people that are bi-polar (which I am). What are the possibilities that I can take Cymbalta? I have 1 displaced disc in my upper back and 3 in my neck. one is pressing on the spinal cord. The Dr has discussed using Cymbalta for pain.

Brief Answer:
What id the difficulty taking SSRI?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty taking SSRI. Though it is common in persons with bipolar, it is not universally so. If you have tried these drugs before, please report all the adverse effects you had for evaluation as there might be the possibility of addressing them to allow you continue to benefit from these medication which are good in pinched nerve related pains. If you have not taken them before, I will recommend that you go ahead and try taking cymbalta. If the results are good, they are good and if the tolerance seems a bit problematic, then we can take a look at this again to see what adjustments are needed.

In all, only taking this drug offers us the best room for assessment. I will suggest you report your prior experience or give it a try and we take off from there.

I hope this helps. i wish you well. Keep me updated and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
