Doctor removed 23 lymphnodes. have shared with you the report. would you please advise if breast was required to be removed and was 23 lymphnodes also req? she had lost sensation on her right arm. doc has suggested hormone treatment. what is it?
Brief Answer:
Hormone therapy required.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Your mothers breast and lymph nodes was removed as she was suffering from low grade mucinous carcinoma of right breast.
Keeping the breast would have increased chance of recurrence.
Hormone therapy is needed after sugery as ER was positive in the histopathology report and it means hormone therapy will work to prevent recurrence.
Sensation in right arm will slowly return with physiotherapy.
