Hello and welcome to HCM, Chemotherapy in case of breast carcinoma is given when there is presence of metastasis or tumor cell deposition in the lymph nodes most commonly axillary lymph nodes. Your mothers pathology report says that there is presence of cancer in breast called mucinous carcinoma. However, the axillary lymph nodes are enlarged as a result of reaction to the cancerous process but no tumor cells are present in the lymph nodes. Thus, there is no requirement for chemotherapy for all practical purposes. Keep in touch with your treating doctor at regular intervals.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
