
Will Oxycodone Taken For Severe Back Pain Show Up In Drug Test?

Question: I went away 2 days forgot my pain meds hydrocodine 5/325 mg 4 x a day prn. my husband had oxycodones same strength. i took 4 0f his. if I need to have a drug blood screen what should I expect? I have never gone off my regime. and have moderate to severe back pain after 2 lumbar surgerys.I dont want to loose my medication as it does help some with the pain. I have a dr appt Friday6th today is wed. two of pills were taken today am and early afternoon. now Im back home and have my own meds. HELP

most screens do not distinguish between the different types and the screen is to make sure you HAVE drugs in your system.
AND....
the drugs are all short acting they are out of your system by 5 to 7 days after the last . Perhaps somewhat less. Get back onto your usual meds. Realize that this is a warning sign of drug dependence and further worsening of one's life and.. learn from it. It is not a severe issue, and, further going off regulated dosing of narcotics (going to different doctors; lying to get drugs, buying them off the street, etc) are progressively worse and more likely to end badly.
