Brief Answer:
no it will not, until specific tests are used

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

In pregnancy related tests complete blood count, random blood sugar, thalassemia, thyroid and if indicated hormonal level are done. For cigarette smoking detection specific nicotine or cotinine blood test is done. That is not routine profile investigation of pregnancy. So in your blood test profile smoking will not be detected.

If you are pregnant I request you to stop smoking immediately to prevent any health hazards to your baby and you.

If your concern is about future pregnancy and tests are being done to check why pregnancy is not there then blood test profile is different. However in that you need to check that nicotine/cotinine test is there or not as it varies according to doctor's advice.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Brief Answer:
yes of course smoking is not advisable

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for follow up.

Smoking can cause problems for virtually all aspects of the reproductive system. Women who smoke are more likely to have difficulty conceiving, may not respond as well to treatment for infertility, experience earlier menopause and have an increased risk of cervical and vulval cancer.Lots of studies from all over the world support these facts.
Studies have shown that smokers take longer to conceive than non-smokers.

So better to stop smoking even before you conceive.

Smoking is also dangerous while woman is pregnant and following hazards may occur.

- Lower the amount of oxygen available to you and your growing baby.
- Increase your baby's heart rate.
- Increase the chances of miscarriage and stillbirth.
- Increase the risk that your baby is born prematurely and/or born with low -
birth weight.
- Increase your baby's risk of developing respiratory (lung) problems.
- Increases risks of birth defects.
- Increases risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

And so on...

And stopping 2 cigarettes per day is not a big task. You can do on your own with good motivation.

Hope this answers your concern.

Take care.
