Would A Standard Blood Test Diagnose Hepatitis Or Sexually Transmitted Diseases?
specially requested
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
These require separate tests.
The hepatitis viruses most commonly tested for are hepatitis b and C, these viruses would have to be specifically requested.
The sexually transmitted infections are HIV, hep b, syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, trichomonas.
HIV can be done most commonly by blood or oral swab.
Syphilis is a blood tests.
Chlamydia and gonorrhea are most commonly done now with a urine test.
Herpes is a blood test and trichomonas is a swab
These tests all have to be specifically requested.
Doctors would not do these tests unless a patient requests done and counselling is normally done before the test is administered
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
