Question: Hi Would like information on LBBB Was diagnosed2004 Dr Said it was insignificant what does that mean Is there always an underlying cause of this and what are they. Female 64 years old 5/3' 130 lbs Seemingly healthy

LBBB is caused by the slowing of the electrical signal as it travels down the left bundle branch. Almost any disease process that affects the left ventricular muscle can lead to LBBB.
LBBB usually indicates underlying cardiac pathology. It is seen in dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, hypertension, aortic valve disease, coronary artery disease, and a variety of other cardiac conditions. Occasionally LBBB occurs in apparently healthy people. Your cardiologist must have investigated you properly to rule out the presence of any cardiac pathology before telling it to be insignificant.
