Would Temporary Pressure On The Femoral Artery Cause Heart Issues?
Question: my doctor pushed down on my left groin artery while laying down stomach side up for no apparent reason. he said he was checking for pressure in my groin artery. then he said he caught someone else's heart valve going bad I think on his stethoscope. i do not understand why he pushed his hand on my groin artery for less than a second. This was during a routine visit and did not do this before. I am afraid it put undue pressure on my heart. like a back flow. can you help?
Brief Answer:
It will not cause you any harm
Detailed Answer:
Hello
After reading your medical query I would like to assure you that don't worry its just a medical examination procedure and it will not cause your heart any pressure or damage, instead it saves your money being spent on unnecessary ultrasound examinations to look for the functioning of your heart.
It's a maneuver to look for any sign or aortic regurgitation, any pulse delay etc.
So don't worry trust your doctor he's just helping you not harming you.
I hope this information will answer your query.
Kind Regards
