--PROBLEM: Have identified a genital (cauliflower type--looks like a single broccoli floweret) wart on the upper inner right thigh. No itching. Appears to be drying out in center area but not on periphery.
Cannot get to dermatologist right away; anything I can do at home to prevent spreading the virus & containing it until I get to dermatologist; is it unwise to cover it with a bandage? Any advice is much appreciated.
--BACKGROUND: I have herpes simplex 2, HPV since age 30. I am 74 years old and have taken Valacyclovir 10-days' regimen from time to time when a flare-up of genital herpes happens due to stress. Valacyclovir definitely clears up the problem. I cleanse body daily with vegetable soap & water; hygiene is not a problem. However, I have noticed that the extremely hard, fracking-contaminated water in Lodi, CA has produced general skin problems I never had before my move here 2-1/2 years ago: tiny skin "bumps" on neck, between breasts & below breast line (not contact dermatitis type) & skin flaps near creases of skin (below breasts, below abdomen.
