1 Year Old Child, Head Injury Due To Fall, Knot, Bruise, Dent In Forehead. Will The Dent Be Permanent?

My 1 year old son had a pretty nasty fall a little over a week ago where he hit his head. A huge knot formed and went away after a day or so and his bruise is starting to go away now, however he has a large dent in his forehead where he hit it. My husband is concerned that the dent will be permanent. Should it go away eventually or will he have a dent in his forehead forever now?

Facial and scalp injury heals rapidly. If forehead scar is deep it may persist. But if it is superficial, it may go away. 1 week time is too small a time for complete healing -which may take about 3-4 weeks. I hope you have got your infant checked for any other internal brain injury or fracture of skull bone? If yes, then just wait for 2-3 weeks.
If you have any other concern, please get back to us.
