10 Days Ago I Went To An Outdoor Shooting Range.

10 days ago I went to an outdoor shooting range. I shot with ear plugs in but took them out to reload and forgot to get them back in to shoot a different pistol. After that shot I had ringing and muffled sounding hearing. I immediately put my plugs back in. the ringing went away after about 4 hours, and the very muffled sound to my hearing diminished over the course of the next 24 to 36 hours. My right ear now seems to be completely normal, but left ear intermittantly is sensitive to volume and has a higher toned pitch to most sounds. Sometimes both ears seem normal and then the left ear acts up. I have an appointment with my doctor next Monday but my question is is this likely permanant hearing damage or could it eventually heal nearly completely and how long should I expect it to take?
