11 Year Old , Having Patches On Elbow, Hypo Pigmented Patch On Finger. Diagnosed As Inflammatory Hypo Pigmentation. Is This Correct Diagnosis?

gd mrng ,sir,,,,sir my son who is 11 yrs old developed small 1;2 patches on right elbow,and also developed another hypopigmented patch on lt middle finger ,which was seen along with some light darl brown spots around,when consulted a dermat,who examined them under woods lamp said,one was post inflammatory hypopigmentation,and a another one was nevus,,,can i rely on him

Hi. woods light can clearly distinguish between Post inflammatory hypopigmentation and (De-pigmentation)vitiligo. Under wood's lamp examination Post inflammatory hypopigmention is not accentuated whereas Depigmentation of vitiligo is accentuated(stands out clearly).

If you are in doubt about the diagnosis of your dermatologist, you can take a second opinion from another dermatologist.
